catch up!

I realized it's been quite some time since I've posted on my blog, so I thought I'd catch you up a bit. Summer is going great, I'm loving every second of it but can hardly wait until January when I can go to BYU-Idaho.

I got my personal progress medallion!! Yes-I was quite the slacker all during my years as a young women. I don't think I accomplished more than ten experiences while I was a mia maid. But the point is... I got my medallion.

I'm interning at Masterpiece Dental... still. But I only have about two weeks left until I'm done with all my hours and can graduate from MATC. What a glorious happy day that will be! I've had a few office interviews but have never gotten past the first interview. Most of the offices don't agree with my Westlake schedule or the fact that I'm going to BYU-I. And I'm not willing to leave my Westlake kids or BYU-I. So... no dental job for me this summer/fall. Right now I'm looking for another job that will help me to earn a bit more money before leaving for school.

The whole Marks family went to St. George a few weeks ago for a family reunion. We stayed in two huge homes and had so much fun hanging with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. As part of the stay, we went and say "Mary Poppins" at the Tuacahn. I'll be honest: it wasn't my absolute favorite performance the Tuacahn has ever put on, but it was still a great show and I'm glad I was able to watch it with all my family.

Girls Camp was last week! And what a great week it was! I had such a fun week and I'll post pictures soon. This year I got to go as a leader helping mainly with crafts with another graduated senior, Sabrina. We had so much fun hanging out together being leaders yet still feeling like YCL's. And even though I was a leader, I still felt like I learned so much. I'll go more into detail in another post.

Yesterday was the American Fork parade. And it was Westlake's last parade. WAHOO! Even though I'm in a white polo shirt and kaki shorts, it's still as hot as ever. But I still feel so bad for the kids wearing those thick, hot uniforms. I'll never forget the feeling of the dripping sweat and unbearable heat. Nor will I miss it. I'm excited to start working on the show with all those great kids. It'll be a great show season. In two weeks we have band camp and we'll really dive into the show. I can hardly wait!! It's funny how as a student I dreaded the thought of band camp. But now, as a staff member, I'm excited as ever. I'm getting to know the kids and staff really well and I have such a fun time being with them, playing games with them and helping to teach them. Time is going way too fast.

I've been going to the singles ward for a whole month now. Woot! It still feels weird! I guess I won't feel fully graduated until I get to college. I'm pinning a whole bunch of college tips and hints and dorm decorating ideas on pinterest and it just gets me more and more exciting. It's crazy to think that some of my friends are leaving for college in just a few short weeks. I'll be left alone :(.

Thanks for visiting! Hope your summer is going great.

I’m a hiker...

... or at least I was born into a hiking family. Three years ago we started hiking ALL the time. My parents would sit on their computer and look for “fun” new hikes our family could enjoy. They even bought a hiking book..... need I say more? You may ask, what started this new hiking obsession? I have absolutely NO idea. I for one, don’t like to hike... at all. But, to make my parents happy, I pretend to enjoy hiking. Aren’t I a good child? :)

A few weeks ago we hiked Bell Canyon. At the end there is a BEAUTIFUL waterfall! If I could get to the waterfall without hiking I would be all for it. But, we had to hike about 2 1/2 miles to the waterfall. Every time we go on a hike I think: “how in the world did people find these places?!”. I still don’t know the answer.

Even though hiking isn’t my favorite thing to do, I’m still grateful for a family who enjoys spending time together. There are many memories I have from hiking with my family and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Spring Break 2013 &...... PROM!

This past week was our very much needed Spring Break. Lucky for me, I got to spend the first three days of it going to MATC to study for our Finals we have this upcoming week. But good news-I’m almost done! Then I can go on full externship at my Dental Office and won’t have any more class to go to except for Fridays. Huzzah!
Thursday my family went to Moab and spent our Friday hiking and walking around Arches National Park. I loved it! I thought all of the arches were so cool and I loved seeing how high I could climb.

Thank you mom and dad for the fun weekend!!

Also.... I got asked to Prom!! We came home Saturday evening and I saw a package on the front porch. I went out to grab it and saw some cups stacked on our porch. I thought: “That’s weird”. But I picked them up and underneath were some smaller cups. Noticing the cups had letters on them I took them inside and set them all out. The big cups spelled out PROM and the smaller had the letters to the name CHAD on them. I’m so excited for this Saturday and can’t wait to post pictures :)

Thanks for visiting! Hope you have a lovely General Conference Sunday!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Christmas Eve
Grandma & Grandpa Marks came for Christmas Eve. We each showed off our musical talents and played a Christmas Song. Ash played her violin, I played my Flute, Syd sang, and Dallin and Hollie sang a cute duet :) I'm so thankful for all our musical talents!

A few days after Christmas we went to Aspen Grove with a few of the families in our ward. It was so much fun lounging around in sweats, sledding, and playing games with all those wonderful people.

Somebody's been a bad, bad blogger :\

Like everybody else... I've been a bad blogger. It's been a pretty eventful month for me... full of good and sad times, memorable moments, and just pure randomness :).

Hmmm... where should I start? :)

We went on a BEAUTIFUL hike (hanging lake) and this is what it was! Isn't it gorgeous? There was a big tree that had fallen over into the middle of the lake so we walked across it into the middle of the water.

On the hike there was a cute little house thingy so..... obviously we to took a picture :)

I got a new set of scriptures (on the right) for my birthday. I compared them to my old set of scriptures (on the left). I love my old scriptures, but there is something great about having more pages to mark up and write on that makes me smile :)

SENIOR YEAR!!!!!!!! Ahhhh!! This is my Student ID card. I'm actually really happy with my picture this year! :) Which is always a good thing, right?

After the Ward Luau I brought a bunch of my crazy friends over to my house and watched Psych and ate popcorn (and beef jerky... if you're Callie).
Sydnee talking to the cute little neighbor girl over the fence.

Flowers from the hanging pots.

Picking up weeds and garbage from underneath the tramp before family came over for dinner.

Hollie & Dallin in the car on the way to Colorado.

My CRAZY friends :). We were on our way to a band competition (which we did AHAMAZING at)!
AF took first place and swept all the caption awards. Davis got second.

I feel bad it's been so long! And this blog post probably isn't the best :/ but at least I posted right?!

Thanks for visiting :)

Bucket List, Last day of school (yearbook day), dates, & St. George

WARNING: This blog post may be a liiiittle lengthy. :)

Bucket List:
{Book #1}
Pride & Popularity by Jenni James
I just finished this book yesterday at our families BBQ over at my aunts house. It was such a cute book! I couldn’t put it down after I got into the first few chapters. It’s definitely a Pride & Prejudice type of book, but it has it’s own little twists and turns in it that aren’t in Pride & Prejudice. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute book to snuggle up with and read. :)

Dallins been learning how to play the piano so Sam sat down and taught him a new song. :) It was so cute :)!!!

St. George!!!

The fam at the Tuacahn. We went and saw Aladdin. It was a pretty good performance, I loved how they used lot’s of fireworks, and they even tried to use 3D... which was... interesting. But all in all it was a pretty good show and I had such a good time with my family.
