Up & Coming!

I need to write a new post... but I'm not quite sure what to write about! :) I always go to my blog and look at it and think: "Man! I gotta change that! It's been the same FOREVER!" But I never do! So, now that I'm finally getting to it, I'm not quite sure what to write about! :) haha

ExCiTiNg NeWs:
~I got a job! At Del Taco! I've only been working there for the past week and half.
~I got my first B+ on a Physics test. No... that doesn't sound very good... but trust me, considering how stinkin' hard that class is... a B+ is pretty dang good! :)
~The first Semester of my Junior Year in High School is almost over! Then I only have three more semesters and 6 more terms of my high school ... career? (Not sure what to call it!) haha
~We decorated our house for Christmas! The tree is up, the garland has been hung, the candles are in the window, the nativity scene (what's left 0f it) is up, and the stuffed reigndeer is sitting in the window. One thing that has been sadly neglected, is our stockings! HOW ARE THE STOCKINGS NOT UP??!?!!!?! :) haha

Up and Coming:
~Christmas break! Hallelujia! It's finally almost here! It is NEXT FRIDAY!! I.Am.SOOOOOO.Happy! This is a much needed break. I know we just had Thanksgiving break... but that's not the same as a two week (plus a day) break!
~The........ ROSE PARADE! :) yayayayayaya! I'm so excited to go to California with the marching band! It is going to be So.Much.Fun! Ahh :)

AND... what I'm sad:( about:
~There is NO snow on the ground... NONE! It is DECEMBER! ARRGH! How in the WORLD has it not yet snowed in UTAH?! Utah for crying out loud!

I'm so happy for the Christmas season! And so grateful! The word Christmas just makes me smile :) real big! I'm so excited for Christmas!
Why?
~Sugar Cookies shaped like candy canes and snow men
~Christmas songs that make you want to sing at the top of your lungs and dance til you're almost dying!
~No school
~Smiling faces
~Giving gifts
~I'm not going to lie... recieving gifts too! :) hehe
~RED AND GREEN!
~The decorations!
~Christ
~Waking up SUUPER early to peek in our stockings and open presents and eat YUMMY breakfast!
~The love that everybody shares/has

AHH! I'm getting myself too excited! I'd better stop! I'm afraid this list could go on FOREVER! :)

Babysitting-one of the hardest jobs and makes me want to pull my hair out!!!!!!

Dallin throwing his stuffed animals and kicking them to see how high they would go.
Hollie playing barbies in her room and saying no to everything I ask.
Ashlyn sitting on her bed reading a book while everyone else is mopping counters and loading the dishwasher.
Sydnee on the computer looking up hair tutorials.
Then, when it's time for Hollie's friend to go home, she repeatedly said, no! No! NO!
Then, when I tell Dallin it's time to clean, he says, no! No, NO! And then he screams and kicks and punches, which makes Sydnee come in and yell at him.
Ashlyn has to take Dallin away from Sydnee and put him in his room. . . which of course, makes him scream even louder.
Then, I come home from taking Hollie's friend home and the main floor had remained untouched.

But now that the house is all clean, and Dallin in his bed. . . things aren't so chaotic. . . the only noise I hear is Sydnee's tapping as she texts some boy, and the clicking of the computer keys as I type. It's quite wonderful you see. . . but this makes me think that Dallin is the source of all my problems. . . while Dallin is here. . . complete chaos and complete destruction! And now that he's asleep. . . peace, quiet, and no fighting! :D So wonderful!

A Dental Week!

My BEAUTIFUL smile a day after the surgery! :) haha, ya right!

This week has been a very painful week for my poor mouth :(. Got my braces tightened on Tuesday which were very very sore and painful! Then, Thursday I had a dentist appointment to get my teeth cleaned, where they found a small cavity, which was taken care of right there on the spot. Then, later that day at 12:00, the dreaded moment came, I was getting my wisdom teeth out. And now, my cheeks are puffy, I am in pain, and I look absolutly amazing with two ice packs strapped around my head! :) Oh what joy this has brought into my life! :)

2 Year Anniversary

Today marks the 2 year anniversary of the American Fork Marching Band bus crash. It's so hard to believe that just 2 years ago, I would be in Pocatello, performing my show, finding out we won all the captions and dominated at our competition, eating a sandwhich at Arby's, and getting back on a tour bus to come home to American Fork, and I'd also be in a bus crash that could have taken my life and many others. I'm so grateful to Heather. Without her, myself and others possibly wouldn't be here today. She is a TRUE hero and an amazing person. I'm very sad I didn't get to know her as well as I would know her now if she were still here. But, knowing that she would lay her life down for her "kids" (as she would call us) makes me feel closer to her every day. The band wore flip flops today in her honor, as it was her favorite thing to wear on her feet. I don't even think she wore closed toes shoes to Band Camp in Delta! :) :) :)

Thank you Heather! :) I miss and love you and I am eternally thankful for what you have done for me.

BORED out of my MIND!

Yes, it is true, I'm very much BORED out of my MIND! Today was just your typical average boring day...

I woke up early, went to school, had sign language, history, math, and child development, had 3 hours of marching band (doing straight drill), and now I'm home... took an ACT practice test, did some math... or at least I got my math out to start, tried to do my Physics homework, and now I'm here... typing my boring day into a blog post. *sigh*

Last night was family night for the marching band! We performed our show twice and Hollie got to follow me around on the feild. It was so funny to see her run around and try to catch up to me while I played. She's such a cutie! :) {Thanks mom and dallin and hollie for coming to my show! It meant a lot seeing you up in the stands!!}

I'm selling Stove In A Can again! This will help me pay for marching band fees. They are $25.00 each and it's a super amazing deal! If you want one, please let me know! I get $15.00 of the $25.00 you give me. People in my band have paid off their whole California trip and even paid off all the band fees required this year.

My mom is gone picking up Sydnee at her new "job" (which is a different story for a different time), and Dallin and I are home! We were eating Taco Soup for dinner and when my mom left Dallin says: "I haven't eaten anything, so can I have some cereal?!" and I told him "No! But you can eat dinner!" And he said, "Ok!" So I filled him a bowl and gave it to him. "EW!" He said. "I don't like taco soup!" So he threw a fit and started crying. And this is what he said: "I DIDN'T EAT BREAKFAST OR LUNCH SO I'M STARVING!" And I said. "Ok, then eat dinner!" And of course, he screamed NO. :) :) :) Haha, what a funny kid. BUT! I told him that if he ate ten bites of his soup, I would let him have a small bowl of cereal, which he whined about for what seamed like FOREVER, but he finally gave in. And instead of only eating ten bites, he had about 20. And now he's chomping on his "small" bowl of cereal behind me, happy as can be! MAN! What a brother!

So I took the van to Costco (with my mom's Costco card which made me feel oh-so-very powerful!) to fill up the van with gas. I got there, did all the steps... and then when it came time to open the little thingy you put the gas nozzle in... I couldn't figure out how to open it! I sat there for at least five minutes trying to get the dumb lid to unscrew before I finally told Hollie to run over to the man behind us and ask him if he could come help me. And he did! :) He was very nice, but I felt very stupid! :) Haha, but he showed me how, then figured I didn't know how to do the rest, so he walked me through how to put gas in my car! :) It was funny. But he was a very nice old man and I thank him... because I probably would have drove home and had my mom go fill up the van instead of me! :)

IT FINALLY CAME!

It finally came in the mail!! My lisense finally decided to come! :) oh I'm so happy! It seems like it's been forever and now it's finally here, in my hands and looking as beautiful as ever! I drove Dallin to Blockbuster to return a movie and he told me that I am AWESOME! :) YES!!!!!!!

"Clean It Up!"

"Clean It Up!" .... daily words! I always hear them. Before I leave in the morning, "Clean It Up!". When I get home, "Clean It Up!". Before I run over to a friends house, "Clean It Up!". Before I eat dinner, "Clean It Up!"

So... after cleaning my room and seeing how beautifully clean and fresh it looks..... I have decided that I am going to set a goal to keep it clean! For a whole week! Putting away my clothes, making my bed, keeping my desk organized... let's just hope I can accomplsh it!

That way... when I hear the "Clean It Up!" WARNING, I'll be able to say, "I don't need to, I'm done!"

Yes, how so happy I will be! My room will be clean instead of messy, and instead of hearing, "Clean It Up!" 10 times daily, I'll hear it once!

Yay! :)

Catching Up :)

I feel like I haven’t posted anything in a long, long while! :) So... here I go! :) I’m catching up!

My Birthday was AMAZING and I’m so grateful for everyone that made it such an amazing day! My mom, dad, sisters, brother, and friends!... oh! and that lady that did my hair!!! she did a great job and I’m happy with the way it turned out! :) Thanks all! :)

School started... bleh... :) Haha. :) I’m glad to call myself a Junior and see all the little sophmores... except it’s the weirdest feeling to think that I was them last year, and that all the seniors and juniors were thinking that about me! :)

A lady named Katie came into talk to our Priests and Laurels in my stake this wednesday. She was in a car accident just a few years ago and found out that she was paralyzed. She talked about how instead of letting herself be miserable, and always wondering “why me?”, she decided to try new things and do things that made her happy. She was so inspiring and I’m so happy I got to hear what she had to say! :)

I’m so happy It’s over! I was so sore and tired and my feet were in so much pain I just couldn’t wait to get home! But I watched my show and it is going to be AMAZING! I’m so excited! We do such cool shapes and forms and our music is really fun! Our show this year is called:

SHADES OF CONFLICT!

Cool name huh? :) haha I LOVE it!

If you want to see our show:

MY BIRTHDAY! My 16th Birthday is just 2 days away and I don’t think I can wait! Well... I am “celebrating” it tomorrow! But It’s still really 2 days away... which is....

the FIRST DAY of my Junior year in HIGH SCHOOL! Ah :) What a great week this is....

Coming home from band camp, my birthday, and the first day of school!

Mormon Messages: My new favorite thing!

I LOVE Mormon Messages! Even though they're only about 5 minutes, they share powerful words and meaningful messages. I encourage you to click on the link below and watch this Mormon Message. This one is a great one by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf . He's an AMAZING person and his message to us is very strong. I hope you take the time to watch this short 4 minute video of self worth.

http://lds.org/media-library/video/mormon-messages-for-youth?lang=eng#2010-04-20-our-true-identity

It's so nice to know that we can be great swans! I'm happy for that knowledge! The knowledge that God loves me so much! And that He knows I am a beautiful swan and that you are too. :)

“Comparing yourself to others can … result in either feelings of inferiority or superiority. … Accept yourself as the unique person that you are without comparing yourself to others. Doing this will help you love yourself properly without conceit” (Clark Swain, “Q & A,” New Era, Mar. 1979, p. 38) and I would also add that it will help you love yourself without being "down on yourself".

GIRLS CAMP! American Fork North 13th ward

This week we went to Girls Camp in Morgan Utah on my Camp Directors families land. It was so beautiful and warm and sunny! It was one of those weeks where when you’re in the sun you’re warm, but in the shade it’s chilly. Ah! It was perfect!

We were in tents this year... which is always an adventure. And we started out the week with Sister Cullimore showing us her cleaning stick with ribbon on it... telling us that we were all slobs and that this week she would be judging each tent... and the cleanest tent... would receive a prize! Which.... I wanted! :) So my tent tried... and just so you know... we didn’t succeed! :) haha And we even tried bribing her! Giving her chocolate and telling her how much we loved her! But still, sadly we did not get the cleaning stick! :) haha oh well! We tried... right?

We also did a Treasure Hunt my marvelous mom put together. We each got a bottle of sand and went to each of the stations. At each station we would earn a bead which we could put into our bottles (Our theme was Treasure Seekers [pirates] hence the message in a bottle). It was fun!! :)

We decorated cute treasure boxes with paper and decoupage which all turned out so cute! During the week we would get cute things we could put into our treasure boxes.

And my FAVORITE part of Girls Camp :) :) :) was shooting!!!! Bishop Garn came up with his guns and we got to shoot! I’d tell you what I shot... but I don’t know what they’re called! :) I shot the big guns though... the ones that leave bruises and kick back really hard! Yes, I shot that! And I did awesome! :) I had so much fun shooting the guns! What a wonderful surprise it was! :)

Girls Camp was so much fun and I’m sad the week is over. There were so many wonderful memories created and so many spiritual moments... too much to write down... so I just wrote down the main events we did.
