MORP 2013!

Last weekend was MORP and I had SO much fun with my awesome date Scott Smith & our AMAZING group!! Probably one of the best dates I've ever had :).
We started out the date all dressed in our Hawaiian shirts and leis and did a picture scavenger hunt around American Fork. Then we went Tropical Swedish Fish (each color of swedish fish represented something different you'd have to do. Example: red meant we had to bowl with our non-dominant hand) bowling at Jack and Jills. Dinner (hawaiian haystacks) was DELICIOUS as Caitlin's and the pictures by Kiana Bates were AHAMAZING!! Seriously-super cute! I love them :).

The whole group!
We were ALL in band!..... except... Brett :)
{Scott & I, Logan & EmmaLee, Sam & Caitlin, McKay & Anna, Brady & Kayla, Alex & Melanie, Brett & Callie}

Scott & I!!
Scott turned 16 TWO days before MORP!! Lucky him! I was his first date :) It was SO much fun! Thanks Scott for making MORP such a blast!

Pretty sure this is one of my FAVORITE pictures! I love my bestest friends in the entire world :)

MORP was SO much fun and I'm so glad I was able to be with all my girls for my last girls choice dance in High School. Thanks everyone for making MORP a night I'll always remember! :)

Stand In Holy Places & The New Curriculum

Along with the New Year comes a new theme for the Young Men and Women. It's weird to think this is my last year in the Young Women's program because I'll be graduating in just a few short months and going to the Singles Ward and Relief Society! Sheesh! I'm old!

I'm VERY excited about this years theme! What a great scripture it is! "Stand ye in holy places and be not moved until the day of the Lord come; for behold, it cometh quickly, saith the Lord." We've talked a lot about making sure everywhere we go is a holy place and a place where we can have the presence of the Holy Ghost with us always. A big one they've talked about is your room. Is my room a place where I can receive inspiration and revelation? Is it a place where the Holy Ghost can be present? Is it a place where you can study the scriptures and say your prayers? I've been really asking myself these questions about not only my room, but about everywhere I go! So far, I think I'm doing a good job :). I'm very happy that this is our theme and I can't wait to learn more and more.

I'm also SO excited about the new curriculum! So far, we've been doing it for a couple of weeks and I'm already seeing improvement in myself. Studying what we're learning the next week has helped SO much. I've been excited to go to class on Sundays and listen to what others have to say. Hearing other girls testimonies and experiences has really made my testimony grow stronger as well. I loved what we were able to learn about in January: "The Godhead". I was able to learn SO much and my testimony of our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost has grown so much! I feel as though throughout January I was able to have a great love for all three of them. I'm also excited for this months topic: the Plan of Salvation. And I hope by the end of this month I can have a better understanding of it as well.

As I've already said plenty of times... I'm SUPER excited about this year and all the new changes that have happened! I know the new curriculum as well as the theme was inspired and that it is going to help todays youth be stronger and have stronger testimonies. I'm very thankful for the Young Women's program and for all the leaders and young women that have helped shape me into who I am today. I'm going to miss everything about Young Women's when I leave in June but until then, I'm ready to learn all the I can :).

Additional News:
-Morp is this Saturday! I'm SO excited! I'm taking a fellow band member as my date! He turns 16 on Valentines Day! TWO days before Morp. Isn't he lucky?! I'm his first date! :) But I'm SUPER excited! It's going to be so much fun :).
-I'm starting my Dental Assisting Externship at Masterpiece Dental next Thursday! My cousin Tammy works there and I'm so excited to get to work with her!
-I hopefully (cross your fingers) will find out about my track for BYU-Idaho in the next few days. I'm hoping for the Fall/Spring track. If I get that track, I won't be starting until January due to the Westlake Band job I have though.
-I've had two scholarship auditions the past few weeks. One at BYI-Idaho which was SUPER stressful! And one at UVU which was A TON easier!! I find out about BYU-Idaho in hopefully March and the UVU one in about a month. In two weeks I'm going to SUU to apply for one more scholarship. I'm REALLY hoping for the BYU-I one!!

Thanks for visiting!
