I realized it's been quite some time since I've posted on my blog, so I thought I'd catch you up a bit. Summer is going great, I'm loving every second of it but can hardly wait until January when I can go to BYU-Idaho.
I got my personal progress medallion!! Yes-I was quite the slacker all during my years as a young women. I don't think I accomplished more than ten experiences while I was a mia maid. But the point is... I got my medallion.
I'm interning at Masterpiece Dental... still. But I only have about two weeks left until I'm done with all my hours and can graduate from MATC. What a glorious happy day that will be! I've had a few office interviews but have never gotten past the first interview. Most of the offices don't agree with my Westlake schedule or the fact that I'm going to BYU-I. And I'm not willing to leave my Westlake kids or BYU-I. So... no dental job for me this summer/fall. Right now I'm looking for another job that will help me to earn a bit more money before leaving for school.
The whole Marks family went to St. George a few weeks ago for a family reunion. We stayed in two huge homes and had so much fun hanging with cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. As part of the stay, we went and say "Mary Poppins" at the Tuacahn. I'll be honest: it wasn't my absolute favorite performance the Tuacahn has ever put on, but it was still a great show and I'm glad I was able to watch it with all my family.
Girls Camp was last week! And what a great week it was! I had such a fun week and I'll post pictures soon. This year I got to go as a leader helping mainly with crafts with another graduated senior, Sabrina. We had so much fun hanging out together being leaders yet still feeling like YCL's. And even though I was a leader, I still felt like I learned so much. I'll go more into detail in another post.
Yesterday was the American Fork parade. And it was Westlake's last parade. WAHOO! Even though I'm in a white polo shirt and kaki shorts, it's still as hot as ever. But I still feel so bad for the kids wearing those thick, hot uniforms. I'll never forget the feeling of the dripping sweat and unbearable heat. Nor will I miss it. I'm excited to start working on the show with all those great kids. It'll be a great show season. In two weeks we have band camp and we'll really dive into the show. I can hardly wait!! It's funny how as a student I dreaded the thought of band camp. But now, as a staff member, I'm excited as ever. I'm getting to know the kids and staff really well and I have such a fun time being with them, playing games with them and helping to teach them. Time is going way too fast.
I've been going to the singles ward for a whole month now. Woot! It still feels weird! I guess I won't feel fully graduated until I get to college. I'm pinning a whole bunch of college tips and hints and dorm decorating ideas on pinterest and it just gets me more and more exciting. It's crazy to think that some of my friends are leaving for college in just a few short weeks. I'll be left alone :(.
Thanks for visiting! Hope your summer is going great.
