American Fork Band

2012 Rose Parade Invite!

Congratulations! On behalf of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association's 2012 President, Rick Jackson, and the Board of Directors, it gives me great pleasure as Chairman of the Music Committee to extend this invitation to the American Fork High School Marching Band for participation in the 123rd Tournament of Roses Parade, Monday, January 2, 2012 in Pasadena, California.

The Music Committee has selected your Band to participate in "America's New Year's Celebration" The Rose Parade because of its excellent musical talents, performance skills, efforts and your outstanding directorship. Imagine having an experience of a lifetime as you march down Orange Grove and Colorado Boulevards in front of one million cheering spectators and an international television audience exceeding 40 million.

The American Fork Marching band gets to go to California this January (2012). I am so excited to go perform in this parade-even if it is six whoppin' miles in a hot black uniform and hat while playing an instrument! (I hope I'll be able to make it through-haha)

I tried out for next years bands today! I tried out for Wind Symphony which is the highest band at the high school. This year I am in Symphonic band which is the 2nd top band--I skipped Concert which is... you guessed it-the lowest band at AFHS.

We had to do 12 scales-12 octaves, 1 chromatic scale-2 octaves, and our Bb Eb and Ab arpeggios.
I got 5 mistakes and an enormously large and amazingly awesome and fantastical comment from Mr. Miller!!!!

Can I just say I am SO excited for Marching Band to start up?!?!

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED FOR MARCHING BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAAAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait for our first practice. I know I'll definatly be tired of it, :) (everyone reaches that point during the season) bu
t I am just SO DANG EXCITED ABOUT IT!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

I can't wait for the excitement, the practices, the friends, the bus rides (kind of), and the parties, and BAND COUNCIL! I'm not really sure what band council is... but I'm on it! :) haha... I signed up for Secretary and looked up on the leadership sheet and it said...... BAND COUNCIL: CAMBRI HILL. Whatever it is, I'm SO excited for it! :)

Did I mention my braces are now black and red?? :) haha, yes, I have school spirit!
